I started using P.E.D’s about 2 yrs ago. The results have been astounding: I feel strength in areas that have historically been weak and I’ve made gains in areas I never dreamed possible. P.E.D.’s. Or “PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DECLARATIONS” (What did you think I meant?) have helped me breakthrough barriers in my life. If I could recommend one simple thing that could take your life and your faith to the next level this would be it. Declaring God’s word over your life is transformative:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind….”
Romans 12:2

Recently science has discovered that the brain is much more pliable and shapeable than formerly thought. The “neuroplasticity of the brain” makes it possible for us to shape or transform the way we think…….hmmmm I’ve read that somewhere before?!
That being the case, Pastor Craig Groeschel put out a podcast a few years ago entitled: “Words to Live By” that would radically impact my life. I’d heard of confessing the word of God several times before, but found it off putting as those advocating it seemed to be using God to get stuff rather than get God. Groeschel however distinguished confessing God’s word as a way to align your will to the Word of God rather than trying to bend God’s will to accomodate what you want. That subtle distinction was revolutionary for me! At first I simply grabbed his declarations [all rooted in scripture] and made them my own. I was faithful to speak them over my life each morning for the next year. It took no more than 5 min. Nothing around me changed, but I did! Transformation in the way I saw myself and my circumstances fortified me with new vitality and faith. It was truly transformative- so simple, yet so powerful. Here is a list of Pastor Craig’s declarations, tweak them, add/subtract and make them your own- but declare them over your life!
